What to Expect From a Baby Sleep Consultation by Zoom
You have decided you need help. That in itself took courage.
Maybe you have been putting it off for weeks, telling yourself things will improve on their own. Maybe you have tried every tip you could find online and nothing has worked. Maybe you are simply so exhausted that you have finally reached the point where you know you cannot keep going like this.
Whatever brought you here, you are in the right place. And if the idea of a Zoom consultation feels a little unfamiliar or uncertain, let me walk you through exactly what to expect so you can go into it feeling calm, prepared and confident.
What is a baby sleep consultation by Zoom?
A baby sleep consultation by Zoom is a one to one video call with a qualified sleep consultant where you talk through everything that is going on with your baby's sleep and come away with a clear, personalised plan to make things better.
It is not a generic advice session. It is not someone reading from a script or handing you a one size fits all document. It is a proper, in depth conversation with someone who genuinely wants to understand your baby and your family before recommending anything at all.
And because it happens over Zoom, it fits seamlessly into your life. No travelling, no waiting rooms, no trying to time things around an unpredictable nap schedule. Just a warm, focused conversation from the comfort of your own sofa.
What happens before your Zoom consultation?
Before we even speak, I send you a detailed pre consultation questionnaire. This covers everything from your baby's current sleep patterns, feeding approach and daily routine to your parenting values, what you have already tried and what your goals are.
This questionnaire is really important. The more I understand about your baby and your family before our call, the more our Zoom time can be spent on solutions rather than background. By the time we sit down together I will already have a clear picture of what is going on and some strong ideas about where to start.
What happens during your Zoom consultation?
Our Zoom consultation lasts 90 minutes and it is nothing like you might be imagining.
There is no formal assessment, no clipboard, no list of things you should have done differently. It is a warm, relaxed conversation between two people who both want the same thing for your family, better sleep.
I will start by asking questions and really listening to your answers. I want to understand not just the practical details of your baby's sleep but how the situation is affecting you, your relationship and your family as a whole. Because sleep deprivation does not just make you tired. It affects everything.
From there we will talk through what I am seeing in your baby's sleep patterns, what I think is driving the issues and what a gentle, personalised plan might look like for your family. You can ask me anything, there are no silly questions, and we will not finish the call until you feel genuinely clear and confident about your next steps.
What happens after your Zoom consultation?
After our call I sit down and write your fully bespoke sleep plan. This is not a template. It is a proper, personalised document written specifically for your baby and your family, covering everything from your nap schedule and bedtime routine to how to handle night waking and what to do when things do not go to plan.
Once you have your plan, the real support begins. Throughout our two to three weeks working together you have daily WhatsApp access to me. Message me any time with questions, wobbles, wins or worries and I will be there. No question is too small and no concern is too silly.
We also have regular follow up Zoom calls to check in on how things are going, celebrate progress and tweak the plan as needed. Because sleep is not always a straight line and I am with you every single step of the way.
Who is a baby sleep consultation by Zoom for?
A Zoom sleep consultation works brilliantly for families at all stages and with all kinds of sleep challenges. Whether your baby has never been a good sleeper, has recently hit a regression or things have gradually got worse over time, a Zoom consultation is the perfect place to start.
It is particularly well suited to families who want personalised, expert support without the cost or inconvenience of an in person visit. Families in rural areas who do not have easy access to local sleep support. Parents who want to be in their own comfortable environment during the consultation. And anyone who simply wants brilliant support that fits around their real life.
